Elon Musk has warned that President Trump’s “One Big Beautiful Bill Act” could undo the cost savings achieved by the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). Musk, who led DOGE until recently, said he was “disappointed” by the bill, which he claims will “increase the budget deficit”.
The bill, which narrowly passed the House, extends tax cuts, increases defense spending, and cuts social programs. Critics, including Musk, warn it could add over $3 trillion to the deficit, despite claims it will boost economic growth.
Musk’s comments highlight growing divisions within the Republican Party over fiscal policy and government spending priorities.
