Singapore’s Actxa has unveiled its latest innovation, the Spark Band, during IFA Berlin 2026. This advanced wearable technology offers a unique blend of features, combining sleep, recovery, heart health, activity, and fitness tracking with Actxa’s proprietary non-invasive glucose awareness technology. The Spark Band, which is screenless, is intended for continuous wear both day and night. It employs BGEM technology to generate an AI Glucose Snapshot, providing users with an estimated glucose range and a specific indicative value within approximately one minute. Beyond glucose monitoring, the device keeps tabs on various health indicators through the Actxa app. It offers insights into sleep stages and scores, along with an overnight signal feature, and the recovery function compares sleep HRV against a personalized seven-day baseline, offering a 30-day recovery trend. For fitness enthusiasts, the band tracks movement, intensity minutes, and provides information on workouts, VO2 Max, and Fitness Age, while a Target Heart Rate Zone feature provides notifications through LED and vibration alerts when users hit their selected training zone.
In terms of design, the Spark Band is crafted to minimize distractions, utilizing LED and vibration cues for key functions like training-zone alerts and movement reminders. Weighing in at about 22 grams, it features a zinc-alloy casing with a soft nylon braided strap and boasts a 14-day battery life. The device is water-resistant with an IP68 rating, suitable for everyday exposure to water, including immersion up to 1.5 meters for 30 minutes. A full charge takes up to 90 minutes, and the band can store data for up to seven days before syncing with the Actxa app via Bluetooth Low Energy. It is compatible with Android 8.0 or later and iOS 15.6 or later, and notably requires no ongoing service fees or subscriptions.
Actxa has planned the Spark Band’s release across select markets in Asia Pacific, Europe, the Middle East, and North America, with pre-orders commencing on September 24, 2026, priced at SGD 199 / USD 149. The official launch and subsequent order fulfillment are slated for November 18, 2026.
