Washington Calling: US President to Host Leaders of Five Central Asian Nations

by admin477351

Washington is calling on the leaders of Central Asia’s five nations for a high-level summit, reportedly scheduled for November 6. This marks a significant step-up in US engagement with the strategically located region.
The presidents of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan have confirmed their plans to attend, according to their offices. This move is seen as part of a wider competition for influence among global powers.
With Russia’s dominance in its former Soviet backyard being questioned, China, the EU, and the US are all vying for stronger diplomatic and economic ties. The Central Asian leaders have recently met with all three.
The region, home to 80 million people, spans a vast territory rich in natural resources, including rare earths. Its leaders are also working to develop it into a key logistics hub for trade.
This summit, though not yet officially announced by the White House, signals a new phase in the “Great Game,” where the Central Asian states themselves are actively diversifying their partnerships.
