Bodo Ramelow recently spearheaded a German delegation’s visit to Da Nang, Vietnam, with the aim of reinforcing the city’s cooperative ties with German partners across various sectors. The discussions centered on bolstering socio-economic collaborations, particularly in the fields of education, vocational training, investment, technology, and workforce development.

In meetings with Da Nang’s local authorities, both parties evaluated their current cooperation and identified new avenues for collaboration. The Vietnamese city officials showed a keen interest in expanding partnerships with German regions and institutions, focusing on human resource development, vocational education, and German language training. They also encouraged increased German investment in high-tech industries, including semiconductor production, renewable energy, the green economy, and digital transformation.

Ramelow underscored vocational education as a particularly promising area for collaboration. He proposed the creation of joint training programs that would allow graduates to gain qualifications recognized in both Germany and Vietnam. Furthermore, he expressed support for strengthening business relationships and exploring new investment opportunities between the two regions.

Germany is a significant European partner for Da Nang, with extensive cooperation in trade, technology, education, research, and cultural exchange. This visit by the German delegation reaffirmed both sides’ commitment to further expanding their economic and institutional partnerships.
